If you get a good percentile then you will get a call but it gives you call on overall profile.

IIMs and other top B-schools announce category wise and sectional CAT cutoff 2017. Candidates must clear the sectional as well as overall CAT cutoff scores or percentile in order to get shortlisted for next round of selection process  WAT-GD/PI rounds.

The CAT cutoff is expected to go high this year as the difficulty level ofCAT 2017was lower than the previous year. Generally, the oldIIMsand top B-schools such as FMS, University of Delhi, MDI Gurgaon etc. have CAT cutoff over 99 percentile. New IIMs and other top B-schools have cutoff ranging from 90 percentile or above. On the other hand, B-schools belonging to tier two to four can range from 80 to 50 percentile.

Sweta first thing you need to know that after CAT exam every college in which you have applied including IIMs will prepare a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT which is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender with different weightages for different colleges.



Now already your academic records is average which is a little disadvantage because generally academic records weightage is from 10-25%. Also your work experience is only 10 months so it will hardly add anything to your aggregate score.



Now if you get close to 90 percentile then only you might have chance to get a call from ultra new IIMs like IIM sambalpur, IIM Nagpur etc. Make sure that if you get any call so you perform excellently in your interview and WSAT because these two with CAT marks have highest weightage in final list.



I will recommend you to apply for some other colleges like TAPMI, Fore school of Management, Great lakes institute of Management, Chennai, IMT Ghaziabad etc. whose cut off is in this range and are also good enough in many ways.
