Hi,first of all your son have done exceptionally well in achieving a good rank in jee advanced.The rank which he would get for his 148 marks in jee advanced would be somewhere around 6000 according to last year statistics. According to last year statistics he can get a seat in chemical,civil, ceramic branches in IIT BHU, metallurgical in IIT Indore, materials science and metallurgical in IIT Hyderabad, metallurgical,polymer science and biotechnology in IIT Roorkee, civil, biotechnology in IIT Guwahati,mining,naval architecture and ocean, agricultural in IIT KHARAGPUR

148 marks is considered as a good score in JEE Advanced but the exact prediction of cutoffs can not be done accurately as of now. Cutoffs can vary too based on factors like number of students appearing, number of seats available, difficulty level of the paper etc.
