My son is a OCI holder. From this year onwards oc holders are supposed to write JEE MAINS instead if SAT. Was wondering if getting into NIT will be easy through DASA rather than the normal route? will the competition be less?

Hi, since this is the first year when students are expected to appear for JEE Mains we do not have previous year cut-off to compare and predict the cut off for NIT. Not many students out of India prepare for JEE Mains exams the competition there is likely to be less. NITs do have DASA quota and not many students apply for it. The total number of seats in DASA 2021 are 3896. Out of 3896 DASA seats, 1273 are reserved for CIWG candidates and 2623 for other DASA applicants. So, if your son is well prepared for exams apply with DASA will be more easily comparatively. Hope this helps.
