Hello aspirant,

Since PCM should be the primary topic in a student's 10+2 coursework, many schools and universities have eligibility requirements. Applying for a B.Tech course at any government college can be challenging due to the eligibility and qualification requirements. Though it is extremely expensive, certain private colleges may offer this course to PCB students. For example, LPU (Lovely Professional University) permits PCB students to pursue a B.Tech in computer science even though mathematics was not their primary subject in 10+2.

Thank you

Unfortunately, most engineering colleges in India require Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects in 10+2 for B.Tech Computer Science programs.

This is because computer science, especially at the engineering level, involves a strong foundation in mathematics and physics. These subjects provide the necessary analytical and problem-solving skills required for computer science engineering.

However, there might be a few private engineering colleges that offer B.Tech Computer Science to PCB students. These colleges may have their own entrance exams and admission criteria.

Here are some alternative options for PCB students interested in computer science:

  1. BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): This is a 3-year undergraduate program that focuses on computer applications and programming. It's a good option for students who want to pursue a career in IT without having studied mathematics in 12th grade.
  2. Diploma in Computer Science: A diploma in computer science can be a good starting point for a career in IT. After completing a diploma, you can pursue higher studies or directly enter the job market.
  3. Self-Learning and Online Courses: You can learn programming languages and other computer science concepts through online courses and tutorials. Platforms like Coursera, edX, and Udemy offer a wide range of courses.

Remember to research specific colleges and their admission criteria to find the best option for you.

No government colleges allow you do b.tevh in computer science if you belong to pcb background mathematics is mandatory for JEE exam which is the common entrance test for b.tech.

You can do b.tech from private colleges Like lovely professional university, KIIT, Manipal etc only if you crack their entrance exam which includes maths.

For an alternative if you want to pursue your career in computer science you can do BCA then MCA to get experience in this field.

Hope this helps you...
