There are certain things you MUST know before getting into MBBS :
1.You have to be a night owl. Forget your sleep. You cannot have proper sleep ever. You'll always be sleep deprived. Because there will tests, tests and tests, so you'll have to study for that.
2. You should have good memorising power. Really you need to memorise everything because lots and lots of stuff to read. Understanding part is less. As I have already mentioned that lots of exams, substages(oral exams), stages etc. are there, so you need to cram everything if you want to atleast pass a subject. You will really struggle to pass a subject with 50% marks.
3. Forget partying. You become so busy with life that literally dont have any time for anything. Else depends what type of person you are and what type of your friends are. We do party but after really really long period.
4. Get comfortable with seeing blood. You will see different types of patients and lots of blood. Eventually you get comfortable with all this but it takes time.In Physiology and pathology practicals, you have to prick yourself with needles for drawing blood for performing practicals. I was scared of needles but now I became so much used to it that I can easily prick myself.
5. Get comfortable with dead bodies (cadavers). First year starts with anatomy in which you read about human body and perform dissection on dead bodies. Second year again post mortems so lots of dead bodies AGAIN. But dear, dont be afraid. Eventually you'll get comfortable with these too.
6. You have to become insult resistant :P. If you are one of those students whom teacher never said anything, welcome to reality my dear. No matter how much brillant student you are, they will scold you and insult you. So never take their comments to heart and continue doing your hardwork.
