Hello,

Stenographer Skill Test is qualifying in nature. In this test, you have to type a dictation of 10 minutes in Hindi/English.

Skill Test Pattern for Garde C:

Speed: 100 words per minute

Time Limit: 40 Minutes (English) and 55 Minutes (Hindi)

Skill Test Pattern for Garde D:

Speed: 80 words per minute

Time Limit: 50 Minutes (English) and 65 Minutes (Hindi)

The test will be conducted in two stages:

Stage I:

You will be provided with a paper to write the dictated words/phrases. You have to use "Shorthand Technique" because the speed of dictation will be very high.

Shorthand Technique:

Shorthand is an abbreviated symbolic writing method, which is used to increases speed of writing in comparison to longhand (common method of writing).

The process of writing in shorthand is called stenography, from the Greek stenos (narrow) and graphein (to write).

See here - Shorthand - Wikipedia

Note: Yo have to learn it as it is not an easy one.
