M.Tech or M.S is related to engineering and MBA is related to Business. M.Tech is the Masters course in India and M.S is generally the Masters course in USA and other foreign countries. The answer to your question is very simple. You need to follow your interest. If you liked what you did in your B.Tech degree, and if you have interest in the technical field, then definitely you should do M.Tech or M.S. If you want to make a transition into the business world, and you see yourself working as a manager rather than a tech guy, then you should consider doing an MBA.

You should remember to always choose a good college to pursue your education as a good college gives a lot more exposure than normal colleges. I would suggest to give CAT, GATE and GRE if you can't decide where lies your interest. Choose the career in whose exam you score the most. Choose MS if your parents have huge money of you manage to get good score and get some scholarship.

My opinion:



you have 2 choices:



get a job , if:you want to gain practical knowledge/ you're tired of theoretical subjects/you want to be independent/you want to support your family/you have no idea on what to do.



further studies, if:any particular subject caught your interest/ you want to get a master's/you want to indulge into a subject and your parents or guardians are willing to pay/ you are independent and doing well/you already set a target to get into a much better college.



If you are willing to take up a course/subject and pursue higher studies then aim for best possible options, write GRE/GATE accordingly, GATE score can be an important factor for jobs in core companies.



If you are still interested in theoretical subjects then better work in academics, become a professor or join research and complete PhD, else as a post graduate you can still get better jobs as per your requirements.



Whatever your choice might be, just imagine yourself in 10 years what will happen if you choose that option, if you think it'll satisfy you, then do it. Your choice and decision matters, think of your family and decide.Alas who am I to tell you what you should do after engineering ?

• You can pursue further study as per your area of interest such as M.tech./MS.
• You can go for private sector job as per your branch/stream.
• You can prepare for UPSC Civil Services and if you are pursuing engineering in Mechanical/electrical/Electronics/Civil then Engineering service examination.
• You can also go for SSC Junior recruitment Examination. It provide you opportunity to work as junior engineer in Border road Organization, Military Engineering Service, Public Work Department etc.
• You can also attempt Staff Selection Commission Common Graduate Level Examination that give you opportunity to work as Income Tax Inspector, CBI Inspector, or many other group B post in central Government department.
• You can also go for Master in Business Administration thruogh CAT, GMAT, MAT, XAT and CMAT etc.
• You can also attempts IBPS Exam that provide posts such as Probationary Officers, Clerk, Assistant Manager etc.
• You can go in design field and attempt CEED exam for Master in Design.

There are different options for a btech passout in the present scenario. It actually depends on your interest and perspective. All the options that you have shortlisted are among the prominent choices that a Btech graduate should opt. The things that you should note when choosing any of the three is prescribed below.

If you are choosing to do MS, get a good GRE score and aim for a good University, it will surely boost up your career opportunities.

In the case of Mtech and MBA, prepare well for GATE and CAT exams properly and aim to  join good colleges like IIT's or NIT's and IIM's(in case of MBA).There are good package offerings as well.

Basically, you have three options to pursue after engineering:

• Anything related to your course. This would include: going to seek a job, pursuing further research in your area of interest, etc. I would advice you to maintain a good rapport with your seniors on this end, for they will be able to help you in some ways we may not.
• Going to pursue Civil Services: This  depends on the amount of willingness and dedication you put into the studies of the required exam. This career path requires intensive preparation
• Pursuing your further studies abroad: Depends on your GRE score, a score of >333 will surely help you.

That depends on your long-term future goal, whether you want to do a job according to your technical field than you should go for Mtech if you are not getting a good job on campus after your BTech and if you have a great experience in event management, public relation, and marketing throughout the years than you should prepare for CAT and go to a good B school.
