Hello Samira,
In general, whenever you go for a group discussion-personal interview round, main topics include, current affairs regarding social issues, government schemes, common topics like climate change, wage gap, international policies regarding world debt, economy, poverty, small scale industrie, etc. For personal interview, you should make up answers for questions like- tell me about yourself, what do you do in your free time, who is your role model and why, also why do you want to pursue this particular course. Be thorough and honest with your answers.
Hi Sameera,
Unfortunately, there are no fixed set of topics which can be asked in a GD. The topic for GD could be anything and can come from any domain whether it is politics, Arts, History, Philosophy, etc. The list is endless. However, there are certain ways to be prepared for GDPI.
You should make reading newspaper your daily habit. Most of the GDPIs are stressing on the current affairs and no other thing prepares you for current affairs better than Newspapers. Also, for newspapers, only read English newspapers like The Hindu, Indian Express, Economic Times, etc.
Always remember, when you are answering any question or expressing your views, try your best to not to be partial or biased towards any particular side. This weakens your argument. Try to put on facts and debate on those facts only. Never project your emotions in the GD.
Be interactive, try to interact with the host as well as your group members. Never show that you don't know anything about the topic. Listen to arguments of your group members and try to use their points and rebuttal them. You can also agree with someone's point with adding a few more of yours. This will show your leadership qualities.
In the end, never lose confidence, always engage in the conversation.
All the best.
Thank You.
