Kolkata, 12th March, 2020: The civic body of the town has pledged to take up the Clean India Mission more effectively into the public by working on minute details.

In the awareness drive led by the Mayor Mr. Kanan Gill, people were told to segregate waste and handover to the garbage collectors. In the meeting that followed, several important decisions were taken. The fine for littering in public places was doubled. Also, a task force was constituted to submit report on possibilities to completely ban polythene bags in the city and search for alternative materials so as to make the transition easy for both public and vendors. It was also decided that from next year, a significant amount from the annual budget will be spent and building toilets and beautification of the town.

The aim of the Prime Minister to see a clean India has got deep into the hearts of every Indian and individual participation by self motivation is what driving this mission to success.
