let me clear your doubt. To appear in gate exam at first you have to clear your backlogs. If you have backlogs then you are not eligible for gate exam so first clear your backlog.

Thats not true.
You can appear in GATE with backlogs provided you clear it before applying for M.Tech or PSUs.

Please don't give false informations if you have no idea. For more info refer to gate official site.

I have also written the same thing. You can appear in gate only of you had cleared your backlog. If you have not cleared your backlog you cannot give gate exam
