As per the information available in the NEET 2021 Brochure regarding eligibility of candidates for the MBBS program, here is what it states regarding person with hearing impairment (deaf/ hard of hearing) -
• Candidate WILL BE ELIGIBLE for Medical Course but not able to avail the reservation (PwD Quota) if the disability is less than 40%
• Candidate WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE* for medical course if the disability is equal or more than 40%
****** Persons with hearing disability of more than 40% MAY BE MADE ELIGIBLE to pursue MBBS Course and may be given reservation, subject to the condition that the hearing disability is brought to a level of less than the benchmark of 40% with the aid of assistive devices. In addition to this, the individual should have a speech discrimination score of more than 60%.
