Hi Pradeep,
The competition is a bit lesser for Civil when compared to Electrical because of less number of candidates. However, your eligibility for masters or jobs in PSUs would also depend on the course you did in undergraduate level. Hence, you cannot simply choose one or the other on the aspect of easiness. GATE requires serious preparation too, no matter which stream.
