In the IT services industry there is no advantage that M.tech degree holders have over B.Tech degree holders. The careers progression, salary hikes etc will be the same regardless of the highest degree held.
However, at foreign product firms like Microsoft, Google, Cisco etc. M.tech degree holders should be able to progress a little faster than fresh BE/B.tech graduates, because the latter have a somewhat Higher learning curve.

Hi..
M.Tech it actually adds much to your LPA. You can easily take up a job in core companies and it will be easier for you to get one because you will no longer be a fresher.
Also during M.Tech you will come across many research opportunities and you can actively take them up and proceed further in the research area and take up a Ph.D and even become a teacher at some reputed colleges around the country.
If you are not interested in going further in the research line, you can give it a break after M.Tech and go for core jobs.
Having an M.Tech also makes you more eligible for in company promotions.
Thank you::)
