There are a lot of opportunities for computer science and information technology students.The Industry has two kinds of companies which are service based and product based.

I would recommend you to go for product based companies like ZOMATO, FLIPKART, AMERICAN EXPRESS, MMT, OYO reason being product based companies rule the market to the present date! All of our activities are now influenced by the products of these product based companies. Simple things like booking cabs, ordering food, booking tickets or even paying for something, all of these are certain services provided by the product based companies.

Now before getting into an internship, you have to make sure that the technologies that they are using are updated because you have to cope up with the industry standard in order to get a career boost and success. Companies these days look for skilled people as they don't want to waste their resources. They make sure that you have the required skill set for their company. So first make sure what industry is looking for and then only go for it.

You being a CSE aspirant, Web Development and Data Science are the sectors which have a huge demand for IT right now,

In Web development, you have 3 roles where companies are looking for people.

These are Frontend developer, Backend developer& MEAN (Full) Stack developer.

Frontend developer requires Javascript, HTML, CSS, Jquery & AngularJS.

Backend developer creates the brain of a web platform on cloud servers so he needs NodeJS, ExpressJS, MongoDB. Besides concepts like SocketIO & Redis are there which are used to develop specific applications.

MEAN Stack developer is when combining the skills of a Frontend developer in Angularjs & a Backend developer in Nodejs.

In Data science, the role of a Data scientist in any company is mainly twofold-predictive analytics using R programming, Python & Machine learning algorithms. In predictive analytics, a lot of historical data is used to create a data model.

According to a study of 32,000 students at 169 colleges and universities. It found that 40 percent of college students fail to graduate with the skills needed in today’s workplace as :

Colleges provide you with the basic knowledge but this basic knowledge is not being preferred by the companies these days.

Colleges have an outdated curriculum. They aren’t teaching the latest technology mostly.

Internshala: It's a useful platform where internships from various companies are there but the skills on the basis of which companies take people, they are not providing it.

edWisor: This platform will be very helpful for you as assistance is something you can get from any portal but here, they are providing the skills first and then are giving guaranteed hiring because they have tie-ups with the product based companies that are hiring.
