We had been provided a list of facilitation centres where we got a thin book regarding the procedure. It contained a small receipt type paper which contained some unique number. Also, we had to enter our accurate details such as phone number, name, etc. on it. It was an important one.
Then we had to fill an online form. There we had to set our preferences for college & stream. Since I completed diploma in computer engineering, I had degree in computer engineering, IT, computer technology, & other related branches as options. Mechanical or civil engineering were not available for me !
Within a few days, we got SMS on our mobile phones indicating the single college name & single branch we could get admission in.
There were 3 options : float, slide, & freeze. Float means we want the same branch but different college(obviously having low cutoff than the current one), slide means we want same college but different branch in it. Freeze means we want the same college & same branch, thus claiming the seat. There were total 3 rounds where students were getting admissions according to their percentages. In 1st round I got IT in the college in which I am studying now. But since I wanted computer engineering, I selected slide. Again in the 2nd round I got IT in the same college as cut off for computer engineering was high. I did not want to change the college & could not change the branch. So, this time I selected freeze.
After each of the 3 rounds we had to go to the centers until we selected the freeze option.
A student could get out of the admission process only on these conditions :
On selecting freeze option. Once freezed, we cannot do anything.
If the student does not select any of the options from slide, float, & freeze if a college is allocated to him/her.
If a student has been sliding or floating since previous 2 rounds but has not freezed any option, then the college he/she gets in the 3rd round will be the final one. Now, he has no other option than freezing it.
All the 3 rounds are over but the student does not get admission in any college from the selected ones.
