Correct Answer: 20 kg


Solution : Let the members in group A and group B be $x$ and 2$x$ respectively.
So, weighted average = $\frac{\text{Sum of weights of each group}}{\text{Total number of members}}$ = $\frac{12 \times x+24 \times 2x}{x+2x} = \frac{12 + 48}{3} = 20$
Hence, the correct answer is 20 kg.
