Hi Candidate,

The straight line has a general expression of y=mx+c, where m is the slope and c is the intercept. Here, in this question the straight line equation is given by y= -x-1 so the slope is -1 and the intercept is also -1.

The line intersects the x-axis at the point (x=-1,y=0) and the y axis at the point (x=0,y=-1) in the x-y plane. The straight line can be bisected at the point (x=-1/2,y=-1/2) in the third quadrant.
