Correct Answer: 6 months

Solution : The correct option is 6 months.

Article 62 of the Indian Constitution says that an election to replace a vacancy in the office of the President must be held as soon as feasible after the occurrence of the vacancy, but no later than six months thereafter. If the President's position remains empty for more than six months, the Chief Justice of India serves as President until a new President is chosen. However, the Chief Justice of India cannot execute all of the President's powers, including the ability to nominate the Prime Minister and other ministries.
