Through which branch of engineering except computer science.. We can get the highest salary pakage? And what type of engineer would be that?
In a present situation all decently placed graduates are getting decent pacakages irrespective of their branch. If you are really into the branch and has a deep knowledge in it's application as well, you don't want to follow salary packages, it will follow you .
For example sundar pichai CEO of Google is a graduate in metallurgical engineering and look where he is sitting now, as the CEO of one of the top IT firm.
All that matters is you and your skills & interest
Apart from CSE , EC and B.arch is good option. Here 90% students will get placement.
But some where your interest is also important .
Advice : select your Branch with you complete interest .
Salary package really doesn't lie on the branch you choose to join in,it all depends on where your interest lies.Explore all the branches, analyse and get to know which interests you a lot.Go for it! You will have a bright future ahead.Imagine if you are into EEE just because someone said that you get a superb package and if you literally don't understand what is being taught to you or if you find that irrelevant, definitely you'll start hating your branch, leave hopes and end up in a random company with a below average salary. So,give it a thought and act wisely.
All the best
Hello Gaurav
See the highest salary packages stream also vary from country to country due to a variety of reasons. You will be surprised to know the Chemical Engineering (especially Petroleum Engineering) is one of the highest paying streams in the USA.
I would recommend, become a person of value who can bargain for his skills.
But to specifically answer your question, if we consider the trends, IT, ECE and other computer related streams' students usually bag good salary packages.
Being an engineer I want to advise you that, Its not the branch that will lead to your dream job or your dream paycheck, its the interest you have for that branch, will lead you to your dream paycheck.
I'll suggest dont run after money instead do what you truely love. Doing what you love will automatically attract money for you.
Suppose now you chose the branch which someone suggested you to take and that might be helpful but think what if it is not your cup of tea, then you are trapped. Once you are trapped in something believe me you will not come out of that trap ever again. So before selecting the branch ask yourself what really you want and then go for it.
All the best.
