Correct Answer: 7 a.m.
Solution : Let the two trains meet $x$ hours after 4 a.m. According to the question, $40x+55(x-1)=230$ ⇒ $95x=230+55$ ⇒ $95x=285$ ⇒ $x=\frac{285}{95}$ ⇒ $x=3$ So, they will meet at (4 + 3) = 7 a.m. Hence, the correct answer is 7 a.m.
