HIV which is an abbreviation for Human Immuno Deficiency Virus is a RNA retro virus which basically means it has Ribo Nucleic Acid as it's genetic material. Retro refers to the fact it has a special enzyme called Reverse transcriptase which can produce complementary DNA from a RNA template.

You could check out the diagrams in NCERT or watch a video on youtube to further improve your understanding. I would suggest to draw the diagram from memory a couple of times to imprint in memory.

It has a glycoprotein membrane which has inner and outer caspids. Along with this is has projections called spikes on it's wall.

HIV is an RNA virus.

Structure of HIV virus is simple to underatand.

120nm in size

It has RNA as the genetic material. Along with that it has reverse transcriptase enzyme.

The structure of HIV is give detailed in NCERT textbook. The glycoprotein membranes of it can be understood easily if you practise drawing its diagram as per as convinence daily . Also stick one diagram in a place where you u can see it regularly eg wadrobe door, on the wall etc. Rem one thing in exam, our picture memory works better than word memory. The same you can practise for all the complex diagrams.

So i think you can try the method and let me know if you need more help.

I hope this helps.
