Dear Deepanshu,
Faculty of Engineering, Lucknow University is a very newly established engineering college in Lucknow. Their first batch was admitted in year 2017, which is expected to graduate in year 2021.
In a nutshell, the opportunities completely depend on your interests
and how future markets are shaping. Institutes have a small role to
play in this.
Opportunities for engineering graduates from any institute depends on many factors, let me list those so that you can make a more informed decision.
1. Branch of Engineering:
This is certainly the most important factor.
A good branch or a branch of interest in an average is exponetially better then a bad branch or branch of no interest in extremetly good college.
Also, if you want to be a good engineer in future, you must choose the branch of your choice. Suppose you take computer science, the job market is very good currently and is expected to be the same for next 10-15 years, but more then 90% of the jobs are in private sector, whereas Civil engineering/ electrical engineering students mostly aim for govt. or semi govt. jobs. You should have a clear idea in your mind what kind of job you want to do in future and the challenges related to those. No one branch is good or bad neither is the job, it totally depends on the personal choice.
2.
Further Studies:
Many of the students after their B.tech go for further education. Now this futher education is mostly two type based on location
-
Education in India
-
Education in Abroad.
and based on catogery again two types
-
Technical Education: M.Tech, M.S. PhD.
-
Non-Technical Education: MBA, PGDM etc.
This is also completely personal choice, you can opt for either based on your interest.
3.
College Environment:
This is also a very important factor in deciding future opportunities. The kind of exposure your college provides, kind of students you are surrounded with will have a very deep impact on you. Since, this is a government colleges, most of the students comes afte some kind of screening like UPSEEE, hence the quality of students will be much better as compared to any private university that does not have a strong screening process.
The faculty members, clubs in the college, industrial visits and talks by eminent personalities helps in shaping the mindset towards a better future.
Since, Engineering in Lucknow University is very new, this cannot be commented on at the moment, but as per the details provided by the official website, it seems to have good environment for growth. I would suggest if you are a resident of lucknow, or live somewhere near, you should once visit the campus and have a look on your own how things are going on there.
4.
Alumni Network:
This is also very important factor for suscess after your graduation. If some seniors from your college is at a reputed place, you can easily get connected with him for guidance or motivation. There are many other things alumni's can help you with. Since B.Tech is newly inducted in Lucknow University, you will seriously lag in this.
5.
Placements and Future Opportunities:
Faculty of Engineering, Lucknow University is very newly inducted, hence there is no placement data available, neither details about what senior students who have already graduated from the institute are doing. These can be a serious let down in case your aim is good placements at the end of 4th year.
6.
College Type:
Lucknow University is a fully funded government university, meaning it is bound to get better with time. Governement Universities has following advantages as compared to private universities:
-
Lesser Fees as compared to private colleges.
- Competitive Environement: since most of the students get admission after a screeing process, the quality of students will be better. You will be surrounded with students motivated towards studies.
-
NCC/NSS/NIOS: All government institutions have NCC/NSS/NIOS are their integral part, and the kind of exposure you get over there is unparalleled with any other private college which does not have these facilities
-
Established Name: Lucknow University is established and well known throughout India. So you will have good opportunities of attending talks by eminent personalities, scholarships etc.
Hope this helps.
