What are the benefits of MBA after b.tech when compared to MBA with Other degree.?
Hello dear..
Now if you feel that you have gained enough technical knowledge and want to get into management roles , then MBA is the degree you should opt for. Many engineers after their Bachelors opt for an MBA and it has been seen to boost their career growth. Now for doing your MBA from the IIMs or the IITs , you’re able to clear the CAT exam. You must have a good 10+2 and UG scores as well as a good profile to clear the interview and GDPI rounds of the B schools. Other B school entrance exams you can opt for is XAT , SNAP , CET etc. For doing your MBA abroad , you have to give the GMAT exam along with your TOEFL/IELTS. You must have good grades and must have a very good profile to get admission in the top B schools abroad.
It is a common dilemma with most of the students who has or are in the verge of completing their undergraduation course. Completing higher education is the need of the day in whichever area - be it MTech or MBA.
An engineering degree integrated with an MBA specialization from a reputed B-school a classic combination for success in the corporate world. BUT opting Finance/Marketing/HR would clearly contrast your engineering degree, which will be of no use. So you can choose IT Management/Business Analytics etc.
You will have both the degrees and will save a year but not to forget that you have to be clear with your intention that what you want to be and which course you want to go in.
With good performance in the academic years you shall have good placements and job options
MBA offers good placements and stable career with good growth prospects. MBA is primarily for honing up the management skills needed to prepare oneself for non-technical industries
After completion of mba also you can get the jobs in it sectors like finance, marketing and sales strategy,HR etc.,and you'll get high pay after completion of mba.

Generally Students who had done Engineering be it in any branch and want to switch over to consulting, finance etc pursue MBA. Also some students who want the tag of IIT-IIM pursue MBA. The Salary one gets after doing MBA from a top B school has no comparison.
And students who are from non Engineering background do MBA because to get good salaries and get into big corporates.
Moreover in today's scenario IIM's want diversity in their campuses. They prefer students from different educational backgrounds so as to maintain diversity and ensure an encouraging learning process.
Hello Revathi,
Before thinking about pursuing an MBA you first need to determine which field/domain you want to make your career in.And only then it will be better to decide which degree you need to pursue based on your interests and aspirations. Your interests and aspirations matter alot here , for example : If one wants to work as a financial advisor, it will be better to take a degree in Commerce or even Management Studies.
Definitely MBA enhances your career path and lets you jump 'two steps at once' as compared another candidate who has not done an MBA.
But when we want to analyse the benefits or advantages of having a B.tech over other degrees like B.com/BBA/BMS/BA there are various factors that play the role here.
- Educational qualifications
- Technical Knowledge
- Work experience
- Skills and Talents
If you happen to develop these during or after your engineering course you will definitely have an edge over the other candidates from non- engineering courses.
I have been a MBA student myself and having done my engineering degree from a reputed institution and a 2 year work experience in the same domain as my engineering. I landed into the first company that came to my MBA college. I only had this one company in my mind and that one particular job profile that was a perfect fit for me. Best part was that all the experience I had from my previous job and my domain knowledge was going to be implemented in the job profile that was offered to me (not to forget the package I've been offered was much more than I expected!)
At last I would like to add that whatever stream you choose make sure you do justice to it. Always have a plan as to what are the opportunities that will offered to you when you choose a particular stream. Just following the rat race and going with flow in a 'herd' will lead you nowhere.
Also its important that you do engineering from reputed colleges of India which always add a feather to your hat. Apart from IITs and NITs there are many other options for ex : VIT Vellore , MIT etc.

Every course that you do costs you time and money so make sure you make the complete use of it. Like if you do chemical engineering make and work in a finance company later on just because you got an opportunity there and then you want pursue your MBA in HR specialization. How will you explain your choices to your interviewer during the placements? This is what many people do and then find it difficult to get a desirable job for them.
Have a goal or particular profile and work towards it. Find ways to reach that goal and you will definitely be able to achieve it.
