Hello Shenna. To be very honest, you don't really need a specific degree in order to pursue a career in the civil services.  But, since things are getting technical in today's times, recent reports have shown that more number of B.Tech and Science students have been enrolled for the post. If you're not a science person, and mathematics is not your thing, you can always go for subjects in the humanities stream, like Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Law and many more. A high percentage of questions appear from these sections in the UPSC papers, and they also give you a good ground work and foundation for the field.

But, at the end of the day, it really is up to you, and there is no specific "best" degree to pursue IPS or any other civil service post for that matter. If you are genuinely passionate about it, and work hard, you will definitely make the cut. All the best. :)

i hope you are doing well , see the basic eligibility criteria to become an IPS officer is you must hold a bachelors degree in any discipline it hardly matter which course you have pursued , your selection will not done on the basis of graduation or your school marks , your selection will be done on the basis of civil services exam , i would suggest you to focus on general knowledge, aptitude and general science as many questions being asked from that section

so you can pursue any under graduate , i would suggest to take one in which you do not need to devote your time so that you will  be able to devote your maximum time in preparing for exams
