Software qualifications are also added not necessarily by higher degree. It can also be done as a side course.  A lot of students are also fancy about code writing today.
See, B.Tech is a general degree and M.Tech is a specialisation level. M.Tech should not be done just only to continue higher studies. It should be done to get placed from any reputed institution and higher studies should be helpful in career. It is also advised that students should do M.Tech seriously.
There are a lot of options which you can do. For example, IOT is a domain where every discipline will be useful. IOT will be used in medicine, agriculture, home automation, machine automation.
