There are several good NITs, and you can even gain a seat in those NITs if you have a particular area of interest, but it is mostly your Jee-Mains rank that will determine which institution you will go and which branch will be open to you at your rank.

Always chose old nits over new .JoSAA will announce the beginning and closing cutoffs/ranks for admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, and dual degree programmes in NITs per category and round. Candidates must register for the JoSAA counselling and seat allocation procedure and participate in it. For students who pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams, JoSAA holds a combined counselling session.
