Before answering to what would a practical choice be to go for, i would strongly recommend you to go for the branch you like the most and have genuine interest in it, and you are ready to work independently in it as both the branches are entirely opposite i would suggest you to go for branch you like in.
Now coming to practical point of view if you are not having interest in bio chemical engg genuinely civil engg would be a safe bet , as you can easily jump to other streams of work like sit for tcs or other mass recruiters easily when compared to bio chemical engineering, as per placements hbtu for bio chemical engineering students has below average placements records, and biet has no-meagre placements for civil but you can always work hard and find a decent off campus placements or sit for companies which are open to all branches
