Data science uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data. Suppose a company selling chocolates wants to increase their sales then the Data science engineer will analyse the records of past sales, market trends etc and produce plans/ strategies to optimise the sale. Artificial intelligence is basically an array of courses which are related to computation like design and analysis of algorithms, computer programming languages, software design, and computer hardware. It has higher demands among the companies dealing with technologies such as automation, robotics and machineries.Both the courses that you have mentioned have their own cons and bring bright opportunities. You should at first decide your field of interest before taking any decision as you are going to stick with that domain for the remaining part of your life.
Placement offers are equal for both the programs and it is almost sure that the scopes will only expand in future.
