Hello Ishaan ,

Top 20 percentile means that to give JEE Advanced Exam you should be in top 20 % of the students who gave the same Board exam as yours in Class 12 in that year, that is, percentage of at least 80% students of that Board in that year should be less than yours.

The top 20 percentile of class 12 boards will be considered for admission to the 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 GFTIs even if they don't score the prescribed minimum 75% marks (65 % in case of SC, ST, and PwD ), in class 12 or equivalent.

Hope it helps!!!

Hey Ishaan,

TOP 20 percentile is made in aspects of different intermediate Boards. Each board has its different top 20 percentile. Depending on the all the students score.

And in Your case You are eligible for appearing In JEE Mains as well as eligible for IITs,NITs,GFTIs and IIITs. As for General/OBC 75% is required and 65% is required for SC/ST and PwD candidates.

Best of luck
