If you qualify jee mains and not jee advance then you cannot get admission into IIT's but you can appear for the counselling session and get admission into NIT, IIIT's and GFTI's based on your jee mains marks. The JEE Mains marks are used to get admission in these and thus you will get a seat in any of the one based on your choice filled.

If you qualify JEE Mains then you will be eligible to get admission into various NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other Private Institutions.
You need to qualify JEE Advance if you want to get admission into IITS.
If you qualify JEE Mains but not JEE Advance then you won't be able to get admission into IITS but don't be sad you will be getting admission to various NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other private Institutions if you qualify JEE Mains.
