What if I do my engineering from abroad??
In response to your question regarding universities in Manila, there are four top ranked universities in Manila, Phillipines according to QS world rankings. These are:
1. University of the Phillipines
2. Ateneo de Manila University
3. De La Salle University
4. University of Santo Tomas
I believe you mentioned an interest in the University of Santo Tomas which offers a number of undergraduate programs in engineering. Although it is a good university for gaining a preliminary degree and has relatively low tuition fees, the research for the university is not very high. Therefore, continuing your education at the university may not be the best course of action if you want to pursue a postgraduate qualification after your bachelor's degree.
For the bachelor's degree however, it is a sound choice as the university is also amongst the 200 best Asian universities and has a decent return of investment for it's bachelor's program. The employabiltiy of university graduates is also amongst the top 500, although it has seen a slight decline in the past year.
Hope this was helpful for you!
I m finally thinking to get admission in University of Philippines .
Will I get good placements in India after getting a degree from foreign n Is there any entrance exam for coming back in India??
Now coming to the exams, if you want to go to government sectors and PSUs then there have you have to face exam such as IES ,GATE but for private sectors they have their own process for hiring many multinational companies you can get job at the campus placements and you can then switch to India so ,they are all connected
Hi,
If you're considering doing your engineering abroad then there are a lot of steps you will need to take prior to gaining admission. Yes, there are a lot of good universities around the world, many of which are ranked much higher than top indian institutions like IITs and NITs. But admission to these universities is also, if not more, competitive than admission to IITs. Although there is no entrance exam, there are other academic requirements in order to gain admission.
You can take the following steps:
If your university of study is in the USA, then you will need to give the SAT or ACT prior to admission.
- You will need to give an English language proficiency test which is accepted by the specific university of application (this could be either TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic etc)
- You will need to start building your entire profile, this includes academic, co-curricular and extra-currcular achievements in the past years which show how you are qualified for admission to the engineering program.
- A statement of purpose, letters of recommendation from two to three referees, a CV or resume, as well as a complete application form is required which takes students one to three months to complete.
Upon graduating from a top ranking university abroad, not only with your job prospects in India be exceptional, but you will be open to a global employment market as well through the connections you make during your engineering. Additionally, the option for a postgraduate qualification will be open to you both in India and abroad.
Actually I m planning to take admission in one of the college of engineering -St.Thomas and there is one more in manila ,Philippines. So will it be the correct decision for me??
