CAT ( Common Admission Test) is the most popular national level management  entrance exam conducted for admission into 20 IIM'S and more than 100 B-Shools across India.it is conducted in the last week of November and its results are declared in the first week of January ,this exam is a computer-based test consisting of 100 mcq and some TITA  questions it is held for 3 hours and is  conducted in 2 slot morning and afternoon slot Around 2.5 lakhs MBA aspirants appear for this test every year.

Common Admission test consist of 3 sections Quantitative Ability(QA) Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation(DILR) Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. Eligibility Criteria- A candidate is eligible to seat in this exam if he/she holds a Bachelor's degree  with atlest  50% marks or equivalent

Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Differently Abled category must have at least 45% marks or equivalent

Candidate in Final year of a bachelors degree is also eligible to seat in CAT

Its score is universally accepted by all the B schools of India except the Symbiosis group of colleges and ISB.

Advantages:

• Universally accepted
• Only score other that GMAT if you have to get into IIMs
• If you prepare for CAT, you can crack other exams easily.

Disadvantages:

• Too tough. There are other ways to get top colleges through easier exams like SNAP for Symbiosis, CMAT, NMAT, XAT(difficulty similar to CAT)
• High competition level
• Unpredictable
