Hello Sir,
The choice between a Government College and a Deemed University is always a difficult one. While Government colleges come with a definite UGC credit of being recognised, even abroad, the Deemed University may or may not have that wide reach as a result of which, specially for students hoping to study anywhere abroad, might face some issues.
However, this issue is also being dealt with as Deemed universities are growing stronger in recent times. Secondly, what is more important is the faculty profiles and the exposure offered in both the kinds of colleges. While most government colleges boast of a strong faculty profile and rightly so, like JNU, DU, Pondicherry etc not all Govt. colleges stand upto the mark. While on the other hand Deemed universities have managed to maintain a certain standard all through these years. Third, obviously, when it comes to the fee schedule, Government colleges are very pocket friendly as compared to Deemed Or Private Deemed universities.
Therefore, in my opinion, Government colleges are better but you should always, always choose the colleges on the basis of the preferred course and faculty profile.
I hope this helps you.
