yes! You will be considered General as well as EWS. If you mention EWS then you will get a reservation of 10% facility in the colleges. This may help you to get good colleges if you didn't get seat via your general rank.

EWS or Economically Weaker Section is a newly added category for reservation based on the economic status of the candidate belonging to general category. If the annual income of the family is less than 8LPA and the family does not own land more than 5 acres, then he/she can apply under EWS category. 10% of the seats are reserved for it. However the cutoff for EWS is almost same as that of general category. So if you fulfil the eligibility crietria for EWS, then apply under the same.
