Grignard reagents are organomagnesium compounds or organometallic compounds that have many applications in organic chemistry. They have a very important nucleophilic activity so they can be used for the formation of new carbon-carbon bonds. In this way, it acts as a free agent similarity to organolithium. Grignard reagents when reply with the alkyl group buy an ammeter group the compound formed is called Hauser base and the compound formed is more nucleophilic than the Grignard reagent. Grignard reagents are performed in the aprotic solvent is because the reagents accept a proton and thereby form a protic solvent so the action of the Grignard reagent as a nucleophile goes decreases and act as inert.
