Hi,

Hope you are safe and doing good

There is difference between both the certificates.  Marksheet only contains marks and grades for the all subjects.  And your personal details related to exam like exam seat number and mother name etc.  But certificate Includes all the details like school name,  subjects ect.  It indicates that you have cleared your board and you are now eligible for further education.

Hope this helps, All the best

In Karnataka Board there are two examination i.e., PUC 1 and PUC 2 and they are said to be intermediate which is another way of saying its 12th examination. As a result for those candidates its mentioned the equivalent marksheet i.e., if your board gives 12th standard result then submit it or submit the document which proves and satisfies the eligibility that you have passed high school education with PCM. Also there are abroad candidates who participate for admission in many institutes. Now as the education system is different in abroad so they have different levels. As a result for a generalized sense its given the equivalent marksheet.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
