Hi Bhumik,

As per the guidelines of National Testing Agency (NTA) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, it is mandatory for candidates to secure the minimum qualifying percentage in Class 12 as mentioned by the respective authorities. The eligible candidates should have completed their qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as sore subjects. However, in terms of percentage to be secured, the category-wise eligibility criteria for NEET and AIIMS varies.

NEET eligibility criteria

According to the NEET 2019 qualifying eligibility conditions, a general category aspirant has to obtain a minimum of 50% taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English and should have passed in all these subjects individually.

While reserved candidate (SC/ST/OBC) must have secured an aggregate of 40% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English, and 45% for PWD students.

AIIMS Eligibility Criteria

On the other hand, to be eligible for AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam, student from general and OBC category must obtain 60% taken together in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. While the qualifying percentage for reserved categories i.e. SC/ST is 50% and 45% for PWBD candidates.

Any aspirant securing below than the above mentioned percentage in their 10+2 qualifying examination will not deemed to be eligible to apply for AIIMS and NEET.

Hope this will help you!!

All the best…:)

Dear Bhumik

The eligibility for NEET is 50% for the OC candidates in all the subjects and for the reservation candidates (SC/ST/OBC) it is 40% in 12 or HSC board. So this is the basic criteria for attempting the NEET exam.

All the best.
