Kritika Shrivastava 6th Dec, 2017
Hello Priti :)

The PMT exam was the old exam conducted at a national level for gaining entrance into the medical colleges of India. It was also known as AIPMT.

Presently, it has been replaced by the NEET exam, which stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is conducted in the month of May each year. It is usually the first week.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The individual must be 17 years of age or would complete the same by the 31st of December of the year of admission.

2. A minimum of 50% aggregate is required in the field of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology) in the unreserved category. In the reserved categories, it is 40%.

3. The maximum number of attempts is 3.

4. The upper age limit is none, having been removed recently by the Supreme Court.

All India pre-medical test (AIPMT) is an erstwhile term for NEET-UG at present.

This is a national level medical entrance examination that provides admissions for pursuing MBBS and BDS courses in various government as well as private medical colleges of the nation.

This exam is generally conducted on the first Sunday of May every year.

Students who have cleared class 12 with an elective of physics, chemistry and biology along with English as their subjects and have secured 50% aggregate score (GENERAL CATEGORY) or 45% aggregate score (SC CATEGORY) or 40% aggregate score (ST CATEGORY) in their board examination can apply for this examination.

Also the candidate should complete 17 years of age in the year in which he/she intends to appear for NEET-UG entrance examination.

It is for the admission to MBBS/BDS all over India, conducted in the name of NEET.

It will be mostly in the first week of May.
None 22nd Nov, 2017

Assuming you are asking for NEET UG as earlier it was known as AIPMT exam, which is conducted by CBSE but from 2019 onwards it would be conducted by NTA only and the application forms will be available in the month of December or January and exam will be held in the month of May 2018 and students who have PCB in 12th and get 50% aggregate in these subjects are eligible to sit in this entrance. Also, NEET covers 85% seats of state Govt colleges and 15% seats are reserved under all India quota as for state seats domicile or residential proof of that particular state is required whereas for AIQ there is no need of domicile as students qualified with required score can apply anywhere. Also, students from Telangana,Andhra Pradesh, J & K are not eligible for 15% quota as they can only participate in their state counseling.
