Provisional Admission means that admission or acceptance is subjected to completion of some requirements. Now it might be the case that you are low in GPA, so they will accept you provisionally and to get admission in next semester you must make a certain GPA.

In provisional admission,  your admission is not final, but still they give you a chance to match upto the admission policy and complete certain amount of targets and receive GPA to gain full admission.

Once the requirements are fulfilled and completed, your admission will be finalized.
