hi...
MAT is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December. The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc) can also appear provisionally.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC, ST, and PwD need to have 45% marks or equivalent CGPA in bachelor's degree final result.
The reservations for MAT depends on the colleges you apply for your admission.
SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board and is required to be taken by students seeking admission to undergraduate schools. Applicants aspire to pursue undergraduate courses, particularly in the US and Canada, are required to take the SAT exam.
This is by US government. Also by SAT deserve candidate will go to world’s best Universities and not reserved candidates.Well if you are a sports person of state or national level then there can be some reduction in SAT score for the same university and same course where other students without this profile applying.
Also if you have done some research or published a paper or some community work or some other academic excellence then chances will be more that you can get a good college.
Best luck...
