Hello,

Both civil engineering and bachelor of  architecture includes designing structure. However architect focuses more on spatial functionality and aesthetic of development work and is more concerned with artistry, look, feel and functionality of designs while on other hand civil engineering concentrate on structural elements and making certain structures. So,both are good its u who need to decide in which u r more confident and can do better .So,Take ur decision wisely! I wish u a good luck!

Thanks!

Hello, Civil Engineering is a 4 year B Tech course or you can pursue a diploma in it
This deals with the construction, maintenance, aspects of  man made or naturally made structures.
After Btech you can look for Jobs in government sector and building works , private builders

While, Architecture is science/ study of designing buildings and other physical structures. The duration of the undergraduate degree programme in architecture is 5 years .For job aspects
You can take a government job or set up your own architecture firm

In both fields you should have knowledge of maths, physics, chemistry and be able to work on the field.

In my opinion Btech in Civil Engineering is a good choice as you can also go to Computer Science company if you practice coding skills well. If your college is highly reputed and has good placements then you can also take a higher placement in 4 years degree.

Hello Dileep,

Hope you are doing well.

When talking about difference between civil engineering and architecture, please understand that although these fields might be related, they are different in their own ways. Architecture deals with the modeling and designing part, whereas civil engineering involves planned and structural execution of the design which makes it look beautiful.

Coming to the educational aspect of it, every course is going to be unique in its own manner. You need to know that B.Tech/B.E involves studying in-depth subjects of physics and mathematics and other related subjects with respect to engineering, whereas in architecture you are expected to be good at putting/sculpting things on a paper or in practical sense. Your art and creativity skills are always at test. In architecture you will not study physics, but you will study more of drawing subjects. With this information, I think it is best that you decide which course suits you better, and then accordingly opt for the same.

Hope this answers your query!
