Dear Santhosh,

These both are similar in some way or the other. Some differences are CS requires more mathematics background while IT requires statistics, process pro or data analysis. Careers in IT include system administrator, business analyst, network engineer, technical support specialist, programmer. Careers in CS include software engineer, Java developer, system engineer, software developer, comp computer programmers. The IT includes more organising, installing and maintaining computer systems while CS include programming computers using mathematical algorithms. These both have wider range and appreciable growth.

Hello.

If you have an interest in computer hardware and software but you aren’t sure which career path to choose, you probably want to learn about information technology (IT) and computer science. These two rewarding careers each require a slightly different set of skills, and they each appeal to a somewhat different type of person. An IT career involves installing, organizing and maintaining computer systems as well as designing and operating networks and databases. Computer science is focused entirely on efficiently programming computers using mathematical algorithms.

An IT career doesn’t necessarily require a computer science (CS) degree, although a CS degree opens certain doors that otherwise wouldn’t be available. IT professionals typically work in a business environment installing internal networks and computer systems and perhaps programming. Computer scientists work in a wider range of environments, ranging from businesses to universities to video game design companies. Both of these careers have excellent growth potential and high salaries, with software developers somewhat ahead of IT professionals in earnings.

So the conclusion is while studying you may not find the changes is syllabus or one or two subjects may differ almost both the streams are same.

Hope this is helpful.

Good luck.

Hello Santosh,

These two rewarding careers each require a slightly different set of skills.

An IT career involves installing, organizing and maintaining computer systems as well as designing and operating networks and databases. Computer science is focused entirely on efficiently programming computers using mathematical algorithms.

Computer scientists work in a wider range of environments, ranging from businesses to universities to video game design companies. They are focused with the theory of computational applications. That means they understand the “why” behind computer programs. Using algorithms and advanced mathematics, computer scientists invent new ways to manipulate and transfer information. Computer scientists are generally concerned with software, operating systems and implementation.

Hope it helped you

Thank you
