what is the difference between the mba of du and iim?
Hello,
Du offers MBA degree in IB(International Business) and HRD(Human Resource Development) and IIM offers PGDM(Post Graduate Diploma In Management) in various fields like Finance, marketing, HR and many more.
Masters in Business Administration or MBA is a degree course offered by the Universities (both Government and Private) and Colleges affiliated to these Universities. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a Diploma programme offered by B-schools/Colleges that are recognised by Government of India’s nodal body for technical education - All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In upcoming years it is expected that IIM's will also offer mba degree.
Coporates does not differentiates between MBA and PGDM, for them both the things are same and equivalent.
If you want to go for specialisation in a particular area then choose IIM because they have wide range of courses to offer with focused curriculum and targeted study package but if you want to just gather knowledge and add one more feather to your hat you can go for MBA as you can get done in low budget also.
Though DU and IIM's( as you didn't specified any particular one) both are at top of there field.
It totally depends upon your preference and career choices you are willing to make.
I hope this information helps you.
All the best !!
Hello Kartik,
There are 5 colleges under DU that offer an MBA programme. FMS, DSE, SRCC-GBO, DBE, and DFS.
So, in case of a degree, there's not much of a difference. The only difference would be in terms of ROI. The fees is extremely low when you compare it to an IIM. Apart from that, everything is more or less the same.
