What is the eligibility to become a dentist?

Dentistry is the science and art of addressing problems related to teeth, jaws and surrounding muscles of human beings. It also deals with complex problems like a cleft lip or cleft palate. Animal oral health is part of this field. If you have 50 marks in 10+2 with PCB, you can apply for national entrance exam, NEET to gain admission in more than 300 colleges across India. The course spans five years, including one year of internship. After completing your BDS, you can opt for private practice or work as dentist in government and private hospitals. The initial salary of a dentist may be in the range of Rs. 40,000-Rs. 50,000 per month.
