What is the essential eligibility to be a part of UGC NET Exam?

Hello

As per the official notification of UGC NET eligibility criteria , the candidates who are applicable on the following conditions may appear in the exam.

For General Category Candidates – 55% aggregate in master’s degree or Equivalent Degree

For ST/SC/OBC/ PWD/ Transgender Candidates - 50% aggregate in master’s degree

The Ph.D. degree holders whose master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for appearing in NET.

The students pursuing master’s degree or equivalent exam or the students who have appeared in the final year exam of their PG degree but their result is still awaited can apply for the UGC NET Exam.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. are eligible.
