What is the new pattern of UGC NET Exam?
Hi,
NTA has changed the UGC NET exam pattern, this is the new pattern:
Paper1- General apptitude 50 questions, each question is of 2 marks.
Paper2- This is for subject selected by student 100 questions, each question is of 2 marks.
Both papers will be conducted in single 3 hours duration.
To make a proper strategy for preparation, its better to analyze the
paper pattern of the exam firstly. By analyzing that you will get an idea about
the marking weightage of the topics and the question types which will asked in
the examination.

December 2018.
· UGC NET exam has two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.
· Paper 1 is common for all subjects which consists 50 MCQs type questions of Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc.
· Paper 2 consists subject based 100 MCQs type questions.
· The time duration of Paper 1 is 1 hour and Paper 2 is 2 hours.
· There is no minus marking on any negative answer in both papers.

As per the latest notification, National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC NET 2018 for December session in computer-based mode. UGC NET for December session will be held from December 9 to 23, 2018 in two shifts each day on Saturdays and Sundays. The new pattern for UGC NET examination is as follows:
The test will consist of Paper I and II and will be conducted in two different sessions.. Paper I will have tests on reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness etc. consisting of 50 questions. Paper II will have all questions mandatory and will have 100 questions. Each question of Paper I and II carries 2 marks. Paper II will cover the entire syllabus of Paper II and III which includes all electives. The test is being conducted by the newly formed National Testing Agency(NTA)
