The minimum eligibility to get a seat in MIT is you need to get 50% of marks in 10+2 Science stream in Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics for an Undergraduate course.Admission to any undergraduate course offered by MIT is that based on the rank secured by the student in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions . The courses will be alloted based on the merit.Only native students of Tamil Nadu are eligible for writing TNEA exams.Other students who belong to different states are eligible those who study high school in Tamil Nadu.

Madras Institute of Technology happens to be one of the four autonomous constituent colleges of Anna University. The college offers BE, ME, MPhil, MS & PhD programmes with various specialisations. Admissions to the Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology courses are made on the basis of TNEA counseling while admissions to PG programmes are done on the basis of TANCET/GATE scores.
However the candidates are required to meet certain eligibility criteria in order to seek admission.
For students seeking admission into the UG programmes, candidates are required to have passed 10+2 with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry or 10+2 (Vocational Stream) with Engineering Vocational subjects and any one or two of related subjects (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) or diploma in one of the Engineering Courses (Civi, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics) with a minimum aggregate of 50% in the related subjects. And for admissions into PG programmes, candidates are required to have a B.Tech/B.Sc Degree in the relevant disciplines with 50% marks.
