What is the pattern or complete structure of uppsc exam?

The UPPSC conducts the PCS exam for recruiting Group A and Group B officers in the administrative services. The Salient features of UPPSC exam Pattern are:-
- Introduction of 0.33% negative marks in the prelims.
- The UPPSC exam will have 4 GS paper and only one optional subject with Essay and the General Hindi Paper.
- The interview will be for 100 marks.
The UPPSC conducts the exam in three stages:-
1. Prelims(2 papers, both are objective type)
Duration :- 2 hours each(Both the paper are conducted on the same day)
Maximum Marks :- 200
Type of Pape r:- Pen Paper
Only paper one will be considered for Merit ranking. Paper 2 is a qualifying paper with 33% qualifying criteria.
2. Mains(8 papers, essay/descriptive type)
Duration :- 3 hours each(papers are conducted over a week duration)
Maximum Marks :- General Hindi(150 marks), Essay(150 marks), All GS paper and Optional subject paper will be of 200 marks each. Total of 1500 marks.
Type of Paper :- Pen Paper
3. Interview
- Candidates qualifying the mains exam will have to appear for an interview, which will be of 100 marks.

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, you need to clear the three stages of the exam:
- UPPSC Prelims Exam
- UPPSC Main Exam
- Interview
The Preliminary examination consists of two compulsory papers. The papers shall be of 200 marks each and of two hours duration. Both the papers shall be an objective and multiple choice in which there shall be 100 - 150 questions respectively.
The mains examination will consist of six compulsory papers and an optional subject. The candidates have to select any one subjects from the list of optional subjects for the main examination. The optional subject will consist of two papers.
The personality test is of 200 marks. The test will relate to the matter of general interest keeping the matter of academic interest in view and for general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/personality and general suitability for the service is part of UPPSC Exam Pattern.
