There are about 1,30,000 seats are allocated this year under Anna University and its affiliated colleges.
According to the JoSAA seat matrix that was declared by the JoSAA, there are 119 IITs and ISM, Dhanbad and they have 10,096 seats for the undergraduate engineering programmes. IIT, Kharagpur has the maximum number of seats of 1341. It is followed by the IIT, BHU with a total number of 1090 seats and 1030 seats of IIT Roorkee. In all, IIT offers 4944 seats in the General category for all the engineering programmes.
About 17,390 seats are allocated to 30 NITs. The highest number of seats has been allocated to NIT, Raipur and this is followed by MANIT, Bhopal with 937 seats and NIT, Rourkela has 900 seats. About 8,548 seats of NITs are reserved for the candidates who belonged to the General category.
Out of 2,228 seats that are given to 18 IIITs, 1,084 seats have been reserved for the General Category candidates. There are 3,741 seats for the GFTIs and out of this, 2,156 seats are reserved for the Open category. This is the standard way of providing admissions to all the students.
