What is the syllabus of AFCAT can I clear it after 12 examination..I want to be a pilot in IAF
Hello Ashok,
Firstly AFCAT is conducted twice every year for candidates who have either completed graduation or in the final year of the same. So firstly you will have to pursue graduation if you wish to appear for AFCAT later on.
In order to be a pilot in the IAF, you must ensure that you score 60+ marks in Physics and Mathematics at the intermediate level. After that you should ensure that you maintain an aggregate of 60% or more at the graduation level with no live backlogs at the time of appearing for AFCAT.
After you ensure that these things are taken care of, then you can move on to star the preparation for AFCAT.
The syllabus for AFCAT is as follows:
- English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases
- General Awareness: History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc
- Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams)
- Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
Also to be a pilot in the IAF, you should ensure that you keep your eyes and ears intact as they are tested tenously at the time of medical examination.
Hope this finds you well.
All the best!
